So last night had some ridiculous thunderstorms, raging heat, humidity, and as a result sleep wasn’t really possible for a few parts of the night.
Getting up this morning to the soporific sounds of rain pattering on the trees outside our window however was a much nicer experience.
The room wasn’t bad to be honest. Tend to go for the cheapest rooms though – usually about £80 – so they’re often small and basic. This was the Beachcomber room. I didn’t want to get out of bed!
The alarm sounded for breakfast though, and we had to get a move on. Charlie had shared the room – he was in the bottom bunk bed – and whilst he showered I checked I got up and made coffee.
I’ve got to say the gym is paying off already though – I’m getting a figure!
Breakfast was the usual buffet style fare. The first full buffet I’ve had at Alton Towers since lockdown – all last year it was table service – and it felt good getting what you wanted. I always really fill up at breakfast there as it’s a long day.
Entering the park (a really quick affair) we went straight to Galactica (in the rain!). We also rode Nemesis, Funk n’ Fly, The Blade, Rita, Smiler, Spinball, Wicker Man, and very importantly Duel – it’s final ever day.
It’s so sad to see the end of this classic 20 year old ride, but hey progress…
I also met Shawn from Theme Park Worldwide.
A great day. Now home… And early to bed! Not as many photos today, but here you go.
In other news, the Jag cost just over £700 to repair.
Bunk beds in a hotel room? That bed you had looked very comfy. I hope you didn’t undo any weight loss at the buffet. I really hate to hear about the £700 repair.
