My last riding trip of the year – Alton Towers in November. I’m back next Sunday but that’s running the towers instead (although due to my left knee being an absolute bag of shit I will be fast walking it).
It was probably the quietest Towers has ever been when I’ve visited. Fewer than 3000 guests in. I don’t think we saw a ride time above 10 minutes all day, and many of the rides were waiting to fill up so we could be despatched.
The weather was dull, damp and very grey but that didn’t dampen our spirits and we had a great inaugural visit for the new car too; and the final results for the fuel? £16 there and back! Not too shabby. The Jag would have cost around £40. We can’t even put £40 of fuel in the Yaris! £32 filled it up yesterday from almost empty. I think it may have a small cup for a fuel tank.
