All of Europe and a large portion of Russia, the middle East, and as far out as India enjoyed a partial solar eclipse today. At no point was there a royal solar eclipse as the shadow of the moon missed the planet, but still I saw about 20% of the sun disappear.
I actually took a break from work to see it (hence the hi viz).
The photo was taken with a Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 held up to the eyepiece of our society Takahashi TOA

That is the best photo of a partial eclipse I have ever seen. You take better solar photos than NASA. It looks like you were chilly in your observatory. That’s a common problem for astronomers everywhere.
Nah it’s not that good. Some of our members have done superb results.
I totally missed it. I forgot the time and when I checked it had already happened. I do remember a fuller eclipse from years ago. It was in the middle of summer. It got really chilly and the birds quieted. I thought it was eery.
That’ll be August 1999. It was total for us in the UK. A real rarity!
