Last night was my Astronomy Club, and then afterwards – taking up my duties as observations officer – we went out to the Observatory for a couple of hours.
Our primary target was Comet Panstarrs which was pretty much in the same field of view as M10 in Ophiuchus.

Going on though, we also had a good look at M12, the Saturn Nebula, then we took a sweep up through the planetary nebulae of the summer triangle – namely The Ring Nebula in Lyra and the Dumbbell nebula in Vulpecula.
The Moon rise put paid to our plans eventually though and after having a quick look at the Perigee Moon through the trees we decided to call it a night, but our achievement was unlocked – we saw Panstarrs!
