I noticed a few red splodges on my legs a few days ago and started applying some steroid cream to take the fire out of them – thinking I’d been bitten by something.
Then they spread… And spread… And in the space of a few days I’ve got bloody blobs all over my left leg.
After visiting the chemists I was told it’s ringworm.
Yes, it sounds horrible, but it’s a fungal thing and should go down fairly quickly with a course of anti fungal cream.
Now just to not scratch it…
What cream did you use?? Mine look the same, and after 2 weeks of anti-fungal cream I’ve no change.
If it looks like this it’s not ringworm, it was diagnosed as Pityriasis Rosea, which is a very different condition and which lasts around 3 to 6 months before disappearing on it’s own. Pityriasis Rosea is best treated with simple calamine lotion to just stop the itch.
One of the signs of Pityriasis is that it clusters behind the joints, and it also has one patch a little bigger than the others – called the herald patch. My blog has lots of entries about the condition and is a sort of diary.
