When I do a North-East gig I tend to spend the following day having a rather chilled time, but not today. My new cardio routine means I like up to at least 30 minutes good cardiovascular workout every day – so today I did it on the bike.

One thing I have noticed as I get more and more exercise is that my heart rate stays much lower even during really strenuous sections whilst I still stay very well oxygenated. I have to say I’m liking this feeling already!
I took the Burley trailer up there as we needed a new steam mop. Not bad – the last one lasted almost 6 years! – and we’ve also decided to get an air fryer to try and reduce our electricity bills by running the oven less.
I suppose journeys like this demonstrate that you don’t always need a car.
I don’t even have a car. And with these gas prices I’m glad I don’t. For short distances like grocerie shopping I use my bike. And longer ones it’s trains. I have a licence though. But in the 20 years that I have it, I’ve never driven a car.
Unfortunately we live in a very hilly area so I can understand not many people want to cycle, but with the rising cost of fuel and the increasing traffic problems I am expecting to see more e-bikes on the roads.
Sounds like a nice trip. I have an air fryer also. Using the oven here in Louisiana during 9 months, hot and hotter, of the year is miserable and much higher light bills. And the food is a lot more healthy.
