Blood & Galaxies

After my day at work yesterday I headed out to give blood. It’s 500ml of the red stuff, and my red stuff is very special as I’m O- and around 13% of UK donors are O- blood type. But then I’m also CMV- which means my blood is suitable for neonatal use. That is much rarer and means that my blood is in the 0.4% percentile. Hence blood donors pester me literally the minute my donation has been taken!

After blood donors I then went on to do a short Zelda stream. A rather lovely raid came in (thanks Moneeeka!) and I showed them how to solve the Akkala Citadel without having to actually fight anything on the way up.

I’ve now started the Akkala blue flame quest – but not yet taken it to the furnace.

Remember Shiny Sunday is tomorrow – and the stream announces are coming back as I’ve now got some new graphics software I can use to generate them. I’ll be in latex. I’m not sure which latex?

Wrapping up the evening I got the Seestar out and started imaging a couple of objects. I started on Stephans’ Quintet in Pegasus and realised after a few minutes of imaging that it is absolutely miniscule! I think I may need to use the big scope at the Ob to do that one.

I then moved up to NGC7331 just above it and had much better results. It’s companion galaxies are even starting to appear after around half an hour of subs.

I’m absolutely loving the Seestar. It’s really reinvigorated my passion for astronomy.
