I chose my hosting very wisely after previous failures, and I thought as such I’d let you see how I protect my IP using various tools.
My photos are all watermarked twice. First there’s a visible watermark in the bottom corner that looks like this:

They’re also watermarked using a hidden watermark, the same logo as above, but only 1% brighter than the surrounding pixels but with a few extras that can’t be seen. This one is clever because a certain filter in Photoshop will enhance it to become really obvious!
My videos on the other hand are hosted using Vimeo rather than YouTube. The first reason is that you can’t externally host a YouTube video that’s marked as 18+ – you have to view it within YouTube itself – and secondly, Vimeo can domain lock requests, meaning that if you grab a video URL and try hosting or connecting to the video from anywhere outside my chosen domain you’ll get a message that viewing this video is prohibited – this means that my subscriber content is fairly well protected! For example, here I tried a video downloader

So what does all this mean?
I’m not being an arse about this, I love creating content and I love sharing it with you guys, but I also want control of how far it goes. Now I’m aware there are ways and means around all content protection, but I’m hoping my methods discourage casual sharing.
So can I share your content?
My videos, no. You are free to bookmark them on my website and use them for personal use (yes, I know what some of you do over my videos 😉) but I’ve attempted to lock them so you can only view them here.
My photos are different, apart from a few very select pictures I have a creative commons licence which covers how and where you can share it.

BY = you must credit me – a link to my website is ok.
NC = you are not permitted to make money using my images, so no commercial activities, and resale is a huge no no
ND = you must not change the image at all. No derivatives. That means you must show it in its entirety, uncropped, unedited, and with no processing, photoshopping and no filters.
So for example, printing them and putting them on your wall is fine. Sharing them on Pinterest, Facebook, or Twitter is also fine. Sticking them on a USB and passing them to your friends is good, but cropping them to remove my branding is a huge no.
Thanks for understanding.
I hope this post clears it up. I don’t want to sound like an arsehole, but it’s you guys who support me and I want to do my thing for you guys first of all!
