A Patreon friend mistertalks has recently asked me how I protect my videos, so here’s the answer.
- Host them on Vimeo, don’t use YouTube!
- Upload the video and mark it as “unlisted” – this will stop people finding it and guessing the URL would take hundreds of years!
- Most importantly – in the video settings under ADVANCED “where can this be embedded?” restrict the domain to your chosen domain. This means someone with the URL can’t actually view the video unless they can access the link from within your domain.
- Finally, make sure “people can download this video” is unselected.
